Tadeeb International lives on! - Update 17th March 2009

The next issue of Tadeeb International WILL be going to press next week. Political circumstances in Pakistan have delayed the production of Tadeeb International. It is the meatiest yet! Contributors include Dr. Mukhtar Uddin Ahmed, Simon Fletcher, Debjani Chatterjee, Shamshad Khan, 15 writers who are participants in the on-going  Tadeeb International Young Writers’ Project,  the Iranian academics Mohammad Ghazanfari and Seyed Mehdi Zarghani, Afifa Ematullah, Paul Sutherland, Professor miriam cooke, Khurram Khiraam Siddiqui and many more.

Please order your copy now via email to Tadeeb UK or the Editor as soon as possible. Please include a postal address to which the journal can be sent. Orders will be attended to on a first-come-first-served basis up to the limit of the print run.

The production and distribution of this issue has been made possible by a private donation of £2,000 and a Bradford Metropolitan District Council Community Chest grant of £1,000. Our profound thanks go to both parties.

To produce and distribute further issues, and to develop our website, www.tadeeb.com, to accommodate an online version and facilities for the reader to pay for that and/or order and pay for a paper copy, we need substantial further funding.

We are exploring avenues to raise funds: re-application to the Arts Council England, Yorkshire; seeking partners in the fields of the Arts and education; approaching charitable trusts and well-off individual sympathisers.

We need your help, too! The subscription fee is £25 for 4 issues. Please renew yours if it is due. The price of a single issue is £7. Please feel free to donate less or more according to your means. Every little helps.

If you are able to donate money in any of these ways, please write your cheque or money order to Bazm-E-Tadeeb International and send to 14, North View Street, Keighley, West Yorkshire, BD20 6AD, UK.

Thank you very much for your continued interest and support.

What is Tadeeb?

It is published in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, and is distributed internationally under the auspices of the Unincorporated Association, Bazm-E-Tadeeb International.

The Bazm-E-Tadeeb International Committee consists of: Quarterly Tadeeb International's founding Editor, Hameed Qaiser (Secretary), formerly Circulations' Manager of the Pakistan Academy of Letters, short-story writer and publisher; English Editor, Helen Goodway (Chair), writer and performer; Advisory Editor, Dr. Mukhtar Uddin Ahmed, poet and critic; Associate Editor, Dr.Debjani Chatterjee, children's author, poet, critic and editor; and Jim Walker (Treasurer).
